What an incredible event Intersec Dubai 2024 was! As a Senior Sales Engineer at Acre Security Visitor Management, I had the privilege of being part of this highly anticipated gathering of security professionals and manufacturers.
Today, I want to share with you some of the remarkable highlights and challenges we encountered during the event.
The Big Picture
- Connecting with Industry Peers: Intersec Dubai 2024 provided us with an exceptional opportunity to connect and network with fellow security industry professionals and manufacturers. It was truly inspiring to witness the cutting-edge technological advancements showcased at the event. Moreover, meeting our wider acre security team at the stand was an absolute delight.
- Highlighting the TDS Visitor Solution: One of the most exciting moments for us was showcasing our TDS Visitor solution to potential customers. Our TDS WebApp offers a seamless visitor experience, from booking to pre-checks, NDA management, and even car park space reservations. The positive feedback we received about the advanced integrations with popular platforms like Uber, Lyft, Expedia, and Booking.com truly elevated the visitor experience to a whole new level.
The Challenges
- Cloud Adoption Hesitancy in MEA Region: During Intersec Dubai 2024, we observed a recurring topic of discussion: hesitancy surrounding cloud-based systems, particularly in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. Despite the recent opening of the new AWS data center in the UAE, hosting security and workplace solutions in the cloud is still met with some reservations. However, we anticipate that the region will experience a significant shift in the next 3-5 years, similar to the cloud adoption seen in the USA.
- Unlocking Economic Value: According to a study commissioned by Amazon Web Services, the potential for unlocking $181 billion in additional economic value over the next decade (2023-2033) by accelerating the adoption of cloud services in the UAE is truly remarkable. This represents 2.5% of the country's cumulative gross domestic product. The study emphasizes the transformative power of cloud adoption in driving economic growth.
Highlights
- Visitor Management Functionality: We noticed a continuing trend among access control manufacturers, where they are incorporating Visitor Management functionality as "Bolt-On's" to their solutions. However, compared to other offerings, these functionalities tend to be fairly basic, lacking the power and capabilities of our Acre Security TDS Visitor platform.
- Positive Feedback from Existing TDS Customers: During the event, we had the privilege of meeting with existing TDS customers, including SAP. The overwhelming positive feedback we received about our product and support was truly heartening. The flexibility of our visitor management system and its seamless integration with CCure 9000 were highlighted by senior members in attendance.
