The successful candidate will be part of the Supply Chain Management team responsible for managing the operational / day to day relationship with our international contract manufacturing partners and suppliers. The Buyer will work to achieve the best balance of inventory, availability and cost to meet customer needs and internal targets. The Buyer will be responsible for placing, tracking, monitoring and reporting status of POs placed with suppliers in accordance with the relevant business processes, in support of the general business KPIs, specifically to meet the required delivery performance towards acre security’s customers.
They will take a lead role in resolving problem shipments from suppliers, invoice queries, customs issues and other operational issues. The Buyer is also responsible for supporting the business by means of maintaining stock at target levels, minimizing obsolete inventory for phase out products and preparing appropriate inventory levels for new product introduction.
The Buyer will work closely with the demand planner to review forecasts for each product, especially when new products are launched, and others phased out. Appropriate purchasing strategy for each portfolio reflected in the SAP planning parameters is required. The Buyer will engage with suppliers to reduce cost and maintain pricing change information. The Buyer will work with logistics suppliers to move products globally, between suppliers, warehouses and customers.
This position will report to the Director of Supply Chain Management and will have key interfaces with suppliers, Customer Service, Project Managers and Product Management to ensure the standard of service required to satisfy our customer needs.
