Our client is a prominent food manufacturing and distribution company located in the US, renowned for their exceptional standards in food safety and quality. With a diverse range of products and a large-scale operation, they recognized the necessity for a robust and scalable access control solution to efficiently manage their intricate operational requirements. This solution is needed to ensure not only the security of their facilities but also the smooth and seamless flow of their daily activities, all while adhering to stringent regulatory standards.
The challenge
The client faced several challenges:
- Integration Needs: The existing system needed to integrate seamlessly with their Time & Attendance (T&A) solution and be adaptable for future developments through an API.
- Remote Management: Given the geographical distance, the solution had to be installed, managed, and integrated remotely, with minimal on-site support.
- Security and Compliance: Ensuring secure and seamless access control for agency personnel and procedures for new starters, while meeting stringent food safety and security standards.
- Fire Safety: Implementing an effective fire mustering system to efficiently account for employees during emergencies.
The solution
To address these challenges, acre security and OLS implemented the ACT365 Cloud Access Control System. Here's how the solution was tailored to meet the client's needs:
- Advanced Integration: Utilized ACT365’s open API architecture to integrate with the client’s T&A solution, enabling seamless data flow and system updates.
- Cloud-Based Convenience: Provided a cloud-based solution allowing the client to manage the system remotely with support from OLS. This included pre-configuring 35+ doors across four buildings, along with a comprehensive installation manual and remote technical support.
- Custom Agency Interface: Developed a custom web interface for temporary workers, allowing agencies to manage their own users securely without direct access to the access control portal.
- Fire Mustering: Installed turnstile readers and integrated the fire muster register with the ACT365 app, enabling quick and accurate employee accounting during fire drills by scanning ID cards at muster points.
